As a teacher, I strongly believe in student-centered learning. Lessons focus on four way
independence, rudiments, listening, and time pulse
awareness. My goal is to make each lesson fun, and to give the student something tangible to leave with and work on. I remain available to my students outside of our private lessons in the
event that they have questions, and enjoy making personaized video lessons for my students who learn best emulating drummers, and that already use resources like YouTube. I am experienced
playing genres including rock, funk, jazz, blues, Latin, second line etc.;drum fills and solos; reading music. I strive to meet the individual needs of all students regardless of age or
experience level. I currently teach private lessons at the Bird School of Music in additon to a weekly brass band clinic, and drumline classes in Bay Area schools. Rates for private lessons are
competitive and available upon request.
